For over a century, the Auckley Show has served as a vibrant celebration of our village's rich heritage and community spirit. As a non-profit, free-to-attend event, our mission is to foster social inclusion by providing a welcoming space for all residents—from lifelong locals to our newest arrivals. To ensure universal access and encourage maximum family participation, the event remains free of charge for all visitors. Our main attraction remains the horticultural and craft competitions, complemented by a vibrant "Fun" Dog Show, live local music, and a dedicated children’s entertainment marquee. From the real ale bar and professional stage to the traditional Tug-o-War, the show offers something for all ages. By providing a platform for local artisans and traders, we support the local economy, while promoting well-being through shared experiences. Join us in continuing this cherished tradition, where every surplus fund is reinvested into the show’s future to ensure it remains a highlight for generations to come.
History
While the Auckley Show has called Riverside Park home since 1984, our roots in the community run much deeper. Our direct predecessor, the Auckley Gala Day, was established on the village green in 1965. Though the event faced a potential end in the early 1980s, a wave of "new blood" joined the committee to revive and transform the show into the annual highlight it is today.
From its early origins at the turn of the century and the 1965 Gala Day on the village green to its move to Riverside Park in 1984, the event has been kept alive by a dedicated community. Today, we are proud to continue this long-standing tradition of bringing the people of Auckley together.
